The Houston Bay Area local group #1017 was formed in January 2019 by concerned citizens interested in establishing a southeast Houston Amnesty International chapter. Our group meets on the first Monday of each month at 6:15 p.m. Central. We are meeting by Zoom for the moment. We invite you to join us!
Board of Directors

Louisa Hodges is a mom, grandmom, wife, and swimmer. Born in Colorado she attended Colorado College and the University of Houston (MA). She retired from AlliedSignal/ Honeywell as Director of Human Resources for Space Operations Division supporting JSC Houston, Goddard Greenbelt MD, WSTF Las Cruces NM, and DSN Goldstone/Barstow/Pasadena CA. Louisa has served as a volunteer and board member for several organizations in Colorado and Houston including: CCISD-Clear Creek Education Foundation; Middlebrook HOA and Lakes Of Pine Forest HOA, currently President of Barker Cypress Municipal Utility District Board. She is also a social justice advocate.

Wallis Calaway has lived in the Clear Lake region of Houston since 2014, having moved from Chicago to be near family. He has degrees from the College of Wooster (BA, Chemistry) and Indiana University (PhD, Chemical Physics). Dr. Calaway joined the staff of Argonne National Laboratory in 1975 where he spent his career conducting research for the Department of Energy. He has volunteered for a number of charitable organizations both in Chicago and Houston. He is an adamant environmentalist and social justice advocate. Dr. Calaway is married and has two sons and four grandsons.

Mohammed Nasrullah, co-founder of the Bay Area Houston chapter, is a long-time resident of Houston. He is a retired Project Manager who worked on NASA projects for nearly 40 years. Mohammed is the former Board Chairman and President of CAIR-Houston. He serves on the Executive Board of the MultiCultural Center in Webster, Texas. He is a long-time activist and community organizer and has been a precinct chair and election judge/alternate judge for close to 20 years. Mohammed is married and has three children.

Bob Tomlinson moved to Texas in 1968 after serving four years in the USAFSecurity Service. He worked for the USPS for 35 years. He received several awards for his work as a letter carrier and with the Combined Federal Campaign. After retiring Bob became very active in the field of politics.
